God's Masterpiece

A great scientist once said these words: "I cannot understand how the consummate artist who formed and painted a rose could also create a worm to gnaw at its fragrant heart and cause it's pink, flushed, and velvet petals to turn the color of decay, neither can I understand how the Creator of such a glorious being as man can bring into existence a foul and voracious thing like a cancer to prey upon that masterpiece of beauty and perfection, the human body." Apart from the wisdom of God's Word, we are in gross darkness. However, the moment we accept the divine revelation of the truth of God's Word, the meaning of the scientist's words become as clear as noonday. Like the artist's rose, in the beginning, God created man perfect in spirit, soul, and body, free from all deformity and lack. In His own image, God created man as a reflection of His own beauty and glory. The marring of God's masterpiece, in spirit, soul, and body is the work of that detestable wormy being called Satan, which he affected by persuading Adam to transgress God's Law, thus introducing sin and death into the world with all its devastating consequences. Whenever man gets out of step with God's will, he is subject to a variety of enemy abuses which defiles, deforms, and destroys every part of his threefold being. In John 10:10, Jesus states clearly who is doing what. Like a destructive worm, Satan, the thief, gnaws away at God's masterpiece.John 10:10 KJV10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The Father's eternal purpose remains unchanged. It is His intent that man should bear His image and live life more abundantly as revealed when He created man in the beginning, as well as being explicitly stated in the text of the Bible. The Father has made provision for the completion of His work in us, as Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. For God will sanctify us completely that we might be preserved blameless spirit, soul, and body before Him.1 John 3:8 KJV8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 KJV23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Before Adam transgressed God's Law and sinned, he was fashioned in the perfect image and likeness of God. Even to this day, although sadly defaced and marred by the effects of sin and death, man still bears the impress of the divine image of His Creator. Because man was God's masterpiece created in His own image, the Father could not leave His masterpiece marred and maimed by Satan's work of sin and death so the Father sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Jesus never sinned but He was made to be sin with our sin as the Lamb of God, as our substitute.Romans 8:3-4 KJV3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The Father who is rich in mercy and love, loved us even when we were dead in sins, He made us alive together with Christ. The Father raised us up together with Christ to sit with Him in heavenly places that in the ages to come, He might show us the exceeding riches of His grace and kindness through Christ Jesus. We cannot save or redeem ourselves from the power of sin and death but the Father gave us a great gift of salvation. Indeed we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works.Ephesians 2:4-10 KJV4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. In the fullness of time, when all that is will be changed by the eternal purpose and power of the Everlasting Father, the born again person will be fully redeemed and restored to bear the image of his Creator once again the way the Father created him to be. The Scripture says that when we see Jesus we will see Him as He is and be like Him as the marring effects of sin and death will be completely removed.1 John 3:2-3 KJV2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
