Temple Hill Elementary to receive $10,000 TEA Hurricane Relief Grant

The Tennessee Education Association (TEA) will present Unicoi County Schools/Temple Hill Elementary with a $10,000 relief grant at noon on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Temple Hill Elementary School.The grant, made possible through funding from NEA Member Benefits, will support rebuilding and recovery efforts following the historic devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.The grant is part of TEA's Hurricane Relief Fund, established to assist educators, schools, and communities across upper East Tennessee as they recover from last year's storm."Educators have been pillars of strength in their communities, caring for students even while rebuilding their own classrooms," said Tanya T. Coats, president of the Tennessee Education Association."Thanks to the generosity of NEA Member Benefits, TEA is honored to help Unicoi County Schools/Temple Hill Elementary continue restoring spaces where students can thrive."Unicoi County Schools/Temple Hill Elementary plans to use the funds to reimburse district expenses used for facility repairs completed after the storm."We are so grateful for the support of TEA and NEA Member Benefits," said Unicoi County Director of Schools John English. "This grant will help replace district funds that were used to complete necessary repairs at Temple Hill Elementary, ensuring those resources can now be redirected to support ongoing student learning and school improvement efforts."TEA President Tanya T.
