Heritage Alliance to host 47th Annual Progressive Dinner

The Heritage Alliance invites the community home for the holidays with its 47th Annual Progressive Dinner on Dec. 6.The holiday tradition invites guests to experience fine dining, live music and warm fellowship as they journey through historic homes of Jonesborough, with proceeds supporting the educational programs and preservation work of the Heritage Alliance.Guests will visit four unique locations throughout the evening, each featuring a delicious course and festive entertainment, according to a press release from the Town of Jonesborough.This year's stops include Root Studio School, the Historic Eureka Inn, the McKinney Center and the Engel-Broyles-Orsinelli House. At each site, musicians will fill the rooms with seasonal sounds, including performances by The Butternuts, Brett McClusky, the Jonesborough Novelty Band and Steve Orsinelli.The evening's menu will begin with a toast and hors d'oeuvres course, followed by a soup course, a plated entrée catered by Bonefish Grill and a decadent dessert. Seating for the Progressive Dinner is offered at four times — 4 p.m., 5:10 p.m., 6:20 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — with the later two seatings historically selling out the fastest."The Progressive Dinner is our largest fundraiser of the year, and it goes to support all of the programming," said Executive Director Cecilia K. Edwards last month. "Jonesborough is very Hallmark-esque during the holidays. It's a very beautiful town, and being able to welcome people into historic homes is a way of reminding them what preservation is capable of."Last year, Edwards said roughly 90 to 100 people attended, but with the expanded options this year, organizers are expecting around 120 guests.Buses are sponsored by the Jonesborough Senior Center to move attendees from building to building, but guests are also encouraged to dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes, according to the release.Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased online through the Town of Jonesborough's website or by calling the Heritage Alliance directly for group reservations.
